OGGA conducts an annual convention and trade show each year. The trade show includes
both the nursery and greenhouse industry and is the largest and oldest show of it's kind
in Oklahoma. Attendance at the trade show varies from six to nine hundred with exhibitors
in up to one hundred and fifty booths. Educational programs are presented at the
convention and include subjects such as management, marketing, advertising, employee
relations, technical and scientific matters and other subjects. OGGA conducts a
certification program to test and certify persons in the industry who qualify.
Scholarships are awarded to horticulture students at various colleges and universities
along with research grants. A quarterly newsletter is published to promote communication
among the membership and circulate valuable information. OGGA conducts special seminars
from time to time featuring highly respected speakers in the field. OGGA is financially
strong and enjoys the support of a high percentage of people in the nursery industry
throughout the state of Oklahoma.
